High School Tutoring ChemECoach
Former chemical engineer turned full-time private tutor Brian Ricks is proud to provide high school tutoring in science and math across New York City. Call (619) 880-0133 to learn more or schedule your first session.
Science and math classes can be challenging, and many people need a bit of extra help. Yet teachers are busy and may not offer regular office hours. Your family and friends might be unable to help, especially if you are taking higher level classes. You have social commitments, after school activities, other classes, and maybe a job. You don’t have time to try to track down someone who can assist you.

Private Tutoring Is The Answer
Private tutoring is the solution for you. You don’t need to be a genius to do well in high school math and science classes. You simply need a tutor who can teach you in the way that you learn best.
Meet Brian
I am a chemical engineer with over a decade of experience in the tech sector, and I have been tutoring since I was in high school. I left engineering three years ago to tutor full-time. I have always had an affinity for science and math, and I found that tutoring others helped me perfect my own skills.
I graduated from high school as valedictorian, and then majored in chemical engineering at Clarkson University. I tutored throughout college and graduated at the top of my major. I was a teaching assistant while attending grad school at Tufts University. I also worked as an engineer and scientist, primarily focusing on thermal analysis, surface chemistry, clean energy, and measurement techniques.
After grad school, I moved to San Diego and kept tutoring while applying for engineering jobs. I had new students come to me for tutoring each week, and I eventually decided to become a full-time tutor. I founded Bricks Tutoring in San Diego in 2015, and then relaunched the company in New York after I came here in 2018.
I can help you learn more in less time, dramatically improving your grades while reducing your stress. You can ace your science and math classes! We will work hard together, mixing your commitment and drive with my skills and experience.
